The most prestigious award show of the year
The Oscars will be hosted by Conan O'Brien, who's following in the footsteps of Jimmy Kimmel. This marks the first instance when O'Brien is hosting the prestigious show.
“We are thrilled and honored to have the incomparable Conan O’Brien host the Oscars this year. He is the perfect person to help lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, his love of movies and his live TV expertise," said the show in a statement.
The Oscar nominees were announced on January 23rd, with there being 10 films nominated for best picture. Leading the pack is "Emilia Perez," with 13 nominations, with "The Brutalist" and "Wicked" following with 10 nominations each. Also competing are "Anora," "A Complete Unknown," "Dune: Part 2," "Conclave," and more.
It's been a chaotic Oscar season, to put it mildly. Over the past week, various Oscar nominees have been the subject of controversies, with none more prominent than Karla Sofia Gascon, the lead star of "Emilia Perez." Past remarks made on her Twitter account have left everyone involved in the film scrambling to restore its image. The Oscars are a month away, but things are not looking good for "Emilia Perez."
According to Variety, the publication predicts "A Complete Unknown" to take best picture. Sebastian Stan, Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin, and Isabella Rossellini are predicted to take Oscars for their performances.
The Oscars will air live on ABC, starting at 7 pm ET. The show will also be available to stream on various platforms, including Hulu Live TV, Fubo TV, YouTube TV, and more.
